Service member with symptoms of Combat and Operational Stress Reaction (COSR) [A] COSR Symptoms
Does SM require urgent medical care or management of dangerous behaviors?  Take appropriate actions
Assess risk of harm to self or others. Seek collateral information about stressors, service member's function, medical history, and absence or impairment on operation or mission [B]
Acute Interventions
Can Service Member return to duty within hours? [C]
Initiate actue intervention for COSR. Coordinate with SM's unit/CDR, as is logistically feasible (see sidebar) [D]
Can service member return to duty within 1- 4 days? Return to military duty
Transfer to more definitive Level of Care for Combat and Operational Stress Control [E]
